marathon queen Rita Jeptoo has been handed a two-year doping ban.Jeptoo's case has focused attention on Kenyan athletes who are among the world's best middle and long distance runners but have failed a number of drug tests.According to reports, Kenya's sports minister this week said the rise in doping has "embarrassed" his country and fears for Kenya's hard-won reputation after repeat allegations of doping. Jeptoo who won the Boston Marathon in 2006, 2013 and 2014, and the Chicago Marathon in 2013 and 2014 was provisionally suspended from athletics after the A sample proved positive,plus a B check which also tested positive for a banned substance.Jeptoon denied doping last year telling reporters that the accusations against her were "lies".In a statement executive director of the Boston Athletic Association Grilk said "We are deeply disappointed in the findings involving Rita Jeptoo, and we are committed to upholding the integrity and credibility of the Boston Marathon," ...

 five-time National Basketball Association champion,Kobe Bryant'may have ended his NBA season after he had a surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder which  will sideline him for nine months. kobe injured his shoulder in a loss to the Pelicans in New Orleans, last week .Dr Neal ElAttrache, who performed the surgery.said 'I expect Kobe to make a full recovery and if all goes as expected, he should be ready for the start of the season,' The Lakers formally declared Bryant out for the year by acknowledging the expected recovery time from his injury. Bryant, who will be 37 years old this summer, is the NBA's highest-paid player at $23.5 million this season, and he is under contract for $25 million next year.

Barcelona's visit to Atletico Madrid for the copa del rey battle inside the Vicente Calderon  turned out dramatic as Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan hurled his boot at a linesman in the second half during the clash. After having his boot removed in a tackle, Atletico midfielder Arda Turan decided to pick it up and throw it at one of the game's two linesmen,the Turkish international however missed his target and referee Jesus Gil showed him a yellow card. Apparently Turan's rage was sparked by a challenge by Dani Alves which left him wearing only one boot and also the sending off of his midfield partner Gabi, who failed to reemerge for the second period after insulting referee Gil in the tunnel at half-time. Turan  was fortunate to avoid a second yellow shortly after his moment of madness when the ball struck his arm and Gil gave Barca a free-kick. Atletico boss Diego Simeone then quickly withdrew him from the action, perhaps sensing that his side would be down to nine men if Turan was allowed to remain on the pitch....

The New Zealand under-20 and Blues wing Tevita Li, had pleaded guilty to driving with a blood-alcohol reading of 45mg ,The legal limit for under 20s is zero.The case has been adjourned several times for the rugby starlet to prove he should be discharged without conviction.Judge Gus Andree Wiltens granted that application and Li's only penalty was to pay $210 to cover the medical costs of taking and testing his blood-alcohol level.The judge was convinced a conviction may restrict Li's international travel playing rugby and if he later pursued a career overseas, teams may overlook him because of the black mark against his name and this would provide "a real impediment to what so far has been a stellar career".

"I was looking down, and all the camera guys are below me on their knees or moving all around, trying to get a picture because she's hugging people, saying congratulations to the other racers as they are coming down. 
"Dude with a video camera on his shoulder, right in front of me, kneeling, stood up and turned and caught me square on the mouth. He chipped that one, cracked the other one.
"And so then, you know, I'm trying to keep this thing so the blood is not all over the place, and luckily he hit the one I had the root canal on. That's the one that chipped. But the other one had to be fixed, as well, because it had cracks all through it."
"Oh Jesus, the flight home was a joke," he said. "I couldn't eat, couldn't drink. I couldn't have anything touch it. Even breathing hurt, because any kind of air over the nerve, the tooth that was still alive, was cracked."Woods is playing this week for the first time since he tied for last at the Hero World Challenge in December,This will be his first appearance in the Phoenix tournament at TPC Scottsdale since 2001.
